How far in advance should we book your services?
A single person headshot can typically be scheduled within the same week. Headshot events or staff update appointments require a minimum of 2 weeks notice. Product services are accommodated based on the assignment size and my current workload. I do only take on one large assignment (200+ products) per month.
How do we reserve your services for a headshot session?
A signed contract along with a $50 retainer are required to reserve my services. The retainer does go towards your balance, it is NOT an additional fee, and is considered non-refundable if you cancel. The remaining balance must be paid in full before or on your shoot date. The contract and payment is an online process.
What are your operating hours?
I am available by appointment only so the hours I am available for portrait sessions do vary. I am available most Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day. I do leave two Saturdays each month available for clients that prefer a weekend. Since my weekend availability is limited it does fill up quickly though. Sessions are during the day hours. Emails and phone calls are received and returned during daytime hours M-F.
How do we reserve you to take our product photos at our business?
Once we have covered the details of the product assignment I will supply a service quote. When you are ready to proceed we can set a date for me to come to your place of business. To make it official I do require an online agreement to be filled out along with a retainer payment. Product photography services are handled with 10% of the quoted balance down, 50% of the remaining balance due the day of the designated shoot, and then the remaining balance paid prior to the final images being delivered.
Do you take on small product photography jobs?
Whether you have 1, 2, 4, or 10 items I am happy to work with you. For small jobs the items can be dropped off at my studio or mailed in. The items can be returned to you after I have photographed them or they can be disposed of. Depending on the scope of the job final images are typically ready within a week.
What form of payment do you accept?
Payments can be made via credit card, business check, or ACH. I am happy to provide a W9 and ACH form to your financial department if needed.
What type of editing and retouching is included?
With headshot and branding portraits I include basic skin retouching where needed. This does include blemish removal, evening of skintone where needed, subtle wrinkle reduction. If extensive blemish, sunburn, or tan-line removal is needed we can discuss options.
For product photography your item will be photographed in it’s best “light” so retouching should not actually be needed. I do ask that items be provided in a clean and new condition. If retouching to fix of missing paint, wear marks, or visibile dirt/dust is needed it can be fixed at an additional cost due to the extra time needed for this.
What backdrop options are available for headshot portraits?
I offer a variety of backdrops including classic and modern looks. A solid white or solid light gray is timeless and will match most company needs. The classic “muslin” (looks like a sponge effect) is available in a few different colors. I also have office looking backgrounds available.

What are the styling options for product photography?
For most e-commerce sites having your product featured by itself on a solid background is appropriate. If you are working with a large brand that sells a variery of products they may ask that you also include a transparent image so that there is no actual background and your item can be showcased on any of their pages (website or catelog) regardless of page color. For health and beauty items it can be more appreciate to photograph your products within a scene; so on a colored background with little elements that lend to the product and make sense visually. This can all be discussed when you inquire about my services.
I only have a few items to photograph, can I mail them to you?
Absolutely! Even if you are local to me you are welcome to mail in your items. Once they have been photographed, and the final images are approved and delivered, I can either mail your items back to you or dispose of them.
If you come to our place of business to photograph our products where would you setup?
Depending on what space you have available I am happy to setup in a conference room or open warehouse, I have done all of the above.
How far do you travel?
I am open to traveling around 2 hours from the twin cities for headshot events for product photography needs.
When will the final images be ready?
Single personal headshot images are typically ready within a day or so. Staff update and headshot event images are typically ready between 1-2 weeks. This varies based on my current workload and how many people were included. Larger groups could take up to 3-4 weeks. Product photography images also vary, ranging from 1 week to 4-5 weeks depending on the amount of items and images needed.
